Great Connections from Beta #5

Yunji deNies let me know some exciting news from the last Beta #5 event. Please see below:

Hi Evan,

Sorry for the delay – meant to send these to you a while ago.

I met several great people at the event – did stories with two of them, and am working on a third with Nicole Velasco on how to get involved with neighborhood boards.

I met David Aquino from Blue Planet Foundation – he told me about We-Fficiency and it sounded like a great story, so we connected later that afternoon and shot it the following week.

And I reconnected with Jim Murphy, whom I had met when he worked for the American Cancer Society. He’s now at Habitat for Humanity and told me about how they were soon giving 6 families homes in Waimanalo.

That one was a no-brainer! Because it was a morning event and I work nights, I made sure the newsroom was covering it and they sent Roger Mari to do the story.

Thanks so much for putting on such a great event.

I look forward to the next one. :)

Aloha,

Yunji
